Volunteer experience terms

These practical terms explain the expectations shared by Daakyepa and volunteers. Confirm current program-specific arrangements with the team before making travel or payment commitments.

Applications and confirmation

Submitting an enquiry or application does not guarantee a placement. Dates, program suitability, accommodation, support arrangements, and costs must be confirmed by the Daakyepa team before you make final travel arrangements.

You are responsible for providing accurate information about your experience, health needs, dates, and travel documents so the team can discuss an appropriate placement.

Fees and payments

The program fee is $250/week and covers accommodation, meals, airport transfer, orientation, and local support. Flights, visa, insurance, and personal spending are separate. Confirm payment timing before you pay.

Travel responsibility

Volunteers arrange their own passport, visa or entry requirements, flights, and comprehensive travel insurance unless another arrangement is confirmed in writing.

Accommodation and conduct

Volunteers respect house rules, local partners, fellow volunteers, community members, safeguarding boundaries, and the guidance of the local team.

Safety, changes, and cancellation

Volunteers must follow the Safety & Health guidance, disclose relevant support needs, and promptly report concerns. Daakyepa may adjust activities when local conditions, partner availability, safety, or community priorities require it.

Cancellation, refund, transfer, and date-change arrangements can depend on the program and payment stage. Request the current policy from the team before making payment.
